The Mega Moolah slot from online casino game studio Microgaming has produced another millionaire, one who will be taking home a cash prize of €6.6 million (US $7.1 million), according to an official press-release from the Isle of Man company.

The jackpot was hit last Tuesday, March 14th, 2017, by a player at the Zodiac Casino referred to as “CF”, who triggered Mega Moolah’s jackpot while playing on his mobile phone. The total amount he won was €6,681,487, which, as was the case with previous progressive jackpots won at Microgaming slots, will be paid out to the lucky winner in a single payment.

Microgaming’s Mega Moolah pays a €6.6 million March jackpot

The Mega Moolah progressive slot is one of the most popular Microgaming slots that has had several record-breaking wins and paid a total of €647 million during its run. Last year, it made headlines for paying out the biggest mobile jackpot of €7.97 million and it even won a Guinness World Record for the largest jackpot in an online slot. The monumental win was triggered in October 2015, when Jon Heywood, a UK soldier, won €17.87 million (US$20 million at the time) and took the Guinness record from the previous holder, who won it on NetEnt’s Mega Fortune slot.

Commenting on the current win, Casino Rewards Promotions Manager, Emma Hall, said that they were “thrilled” to say welcome to their eighth Millionaires Club member and latest success story. She adds that “CF” triggered the jackpot through his mobile phone by using a €1 promotion and he was the second multi-millionaire this promotional campaign has produced since the beginning of 2017.

David Reynolds, Microgaming’s Games Publisher also shared his comments by congratulating the winner and saying that the Mega Moolah slot has consistently been making headlines through its decade-long run and that the latest win confirms the trend is continuing.
